One is repetition. Repetition, repetition, and more repetition. And the other is patience. Repetition and patience are the foundation of every training. Look at a child learning to walk, or a soccer player mastering a certain foot movement. Practice makes perfect.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Living in attention can be seen as training your attention muscle.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>It doesn't have to take much time at all. The most important thing is to do it every day. And when you fall behind (and who doesn't), start over with love and patience each time. It's that simple.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>My recipe for training the attention muscle is 2 x 5 and d.d.d.h.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>2 x 5 means: do this attention\/breath training twice for five minutes each day, in the morning and in the evening. D.d.d.h. means throughout the day. And that means: do the short version of it, which lasts less than half a minute, as often as possible throughout the day when you think about it and feel like it. The beauty of it is that no one can say they don't have time for it. Two times five minutes is manageable, right? And throughout the day - how many 'lost' moments are there where you can pause? Like when you're waiting for the water to boil, when you're sitting on the toilet, or when you're in the wrong line at the supermarket again. You just have to notice them and use them, that's all.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I have recorded the 2 x 5 exercise as a guided meditation, so you have a good anchor to start your daily attention training.
